Local Mission: Life Action
In addition to our events, groups and the activity of our church community, we are engaged in specific projects and strategic partnerships in service to our local area under the banner of 'Life Action'.
Life Action Volunteer Training
9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th June. Wednesdays at 7.15pm.
Interested in getting involved with out varied work in the local community? Then join us for this series of in-depth training to equip yopu with the relevant skills, knowledge and understanding required to fulfil the need.
Schools
Life Church has a long history of serving local schools by providing assemblies, lessons, clubs and other support.
Our schools teams are currently working in Padiham, Rosewood, Briercliffe, Christ the King RC and Lowerhouse Primary Schools (all in Burnley), Shuttleworth College, Hameldon Community College and Blessed Trinity RC College (all in Burnley), and Accrington Academy.
Street Pastors
An inter-denominational Church response to urban problems, engaging with people on the streets to care, listen and dialogue.
Launched in Burnley in 2009, this initiative has brought together local churches and leaders in Burnley, in partnership with the Police.
Link Bridge
A voluntary service to the local community, based in Burnley. Offering outreach support, information and advice. Helping with issues including healthcare, housing, counselling, education, training, personal development, drugs rehab and detox information.
Many of the trustees are members of Life Church along with Centre Manager Simon Gill.
East Lancashire Women's Refuge
The ELWR Association empowers women and children to live free from domestic violence and abuse.
Life Church provides support through the donation of clothing and household items and have had representatives on the board and in connection with the Refuge for several years.
Food Bank
Providing food parcels for families experiencing financial difficulty whilst befriending them and connecting them to other community initiatives at Life Church.
Community clean-up projects
Life Church has engaged in a number of building rennovation and outdoor clean-up projects.
These include work on the canal near Rosegrove (Burnley), Music Alive facility (Colne), Padiham Primary School and Middlesex Avenue Community Centre (Burnley).
The Grand
A multi-million pound, state-of-the-art, multimedia, music and arts performance venue, café and recording studio in Clitheroe.
Life Church is proud to support the FUEL worship event and has worked in partnership with The Grand and Pais to deliver activities for young people in the town. Many of the staff at The Grand are part of the Life Church family and there has been a Pais team based there since September 2009.
Music Alive
Providing access to music for young people in Pendle, in partnership with Open Door.
Life Church has aided in the refurbishment of the rehearsal space and are exploring future partnerships such as school holiday clubs and small groups.
