The Mission won the toss and elected to bat on a sunny Bank Holiday at Read.
The boys from Nelson got off to a flyer putting the Life Church bowlers to the sword.
Some tight bowling in the middle overs from M Brunton 5-0-12-1 and A Beet 5-0-19-2 slowed things down but The Mission were already in a good position and finished on 141.
During the tea interval the rains came down which was sure to make the wicket much more difficult to bat on. However, this is no excuse for the way Life Church capitulated with the bat.
Andy Beet made 23 but there was little else to speak of. Skipper Matt Brunton, coming in at number 4, was left stranded (10 not out) as wickets tumbled at the other end.
The Mission won by a massive 85 runs as Life Church were bowled out with 9 overs to spare.
Life Church Man of the Match: Andy Beet, who took 2 for 19 with the ball and top scored (for Life Church) with 23.
